I'm told to read. The first chapter revealed of the Qur'an is a command to the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, whom wise people emulate. The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, was unlettered. How could he read if he had no experience reading before? God may have different commands for us, but we should all take that leap of faith. God will guide us. He'll send us an angel, if necessary.
When angel Jibreel (Gabriel) appeared before Muhammad, peace be upon him, in a cave, this was the beginning of the revelation of the Qur'an. It took a little more than two decades for the Qur'an to be transmitted. We can rely on Allah Subhana wa ta'ala (SWT) for guidance. We can turn to the pages of the Qur'an or memorize its verses. It is the law inscribed on our hearts.
God's commands to me are to write and to dance. When I feel inadequate, He reminds me that I've been emboldened to accomplish both tasks. I can write. I can dance. Obeying God is a joyful endeavor. Belief is not a life of misery and lack. Belief in God prepares us for every task. It leads to abundance. That's why we say Bismillah, in the name of Allah, before an endeavor.
May Allah Subhana wa ta’ala (SWT) put barakah or blessing in our lives. It's a prayer. May Allah put barakah in it. The job. The choice of home. The relationship. May Allah SWT put barakah in it. May He inspire us every step of the way.
When I first read the Qur’an, it felt like the first book I had ever read. It contains Allah’s speech. It is sacred. It is holy. Hearing the recitation of the Qur’an brings me to tears. It makes me want to dance or sing. It deeply impacted me. The sacred verses are centered on faith, hope, and love. We love Allah SWT and the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, more than we love ourselves. Our hope is in Allah SWT. Knowing Him increases our faith. I strive to be a believer, so all matters related to me will work together for my good
I read the Qur’an daily. It is filled with beneficial knowledge. It purifies the heart. As Jesus said, “Blessed are the pure of heart, for they shall see God” (Matthew 5:8). May we all see the countenance of Allah SWT in Jannah (Paradise).
Amen
